Hey Buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?
Today after I left work, I went across the street to Speedway to put gas in my car. As I was standing there at the pump, a man walked over to me and said,
I told him I didn't have any cash on me. He thanked me and walked away. Meanwhile the ten dollar bill I had started burning a hole in my pocket. And I felt guilty. Should I have given him the money? Offered to buy him the gas? Why did he ask me? Because I looked like a nice person? Or an easy target?
His car was parked next to mine - an older blue car with the back driver's side window busted out and covered with a thick blanket. A woman was in the passenger seat and she had her head down - maybe out of embarrassement or frustration? As I pulled out of the parking lot, I saw him asking the man in the pump next to mine, who also told him no. I drove down the road and prayed that if he really was that desperate for money, that God would direct someone to him to help - someone nicer than me.
" Excuse me Miss, my wife and I are really short on money and need gas. We have
13 cents. Could you spare a few dollars?"

What should I have done? What would you do?

Breaking News from the Hive....
Riley just peed in the potty for the first time!! He has shown zero interest in potty training...tonight he just said, "I want to go in the potty" - and that's just what he did! wooo hooo!!!!!

Now he gets Murdoch. (That's all he's talked about since he saw Megan's son playing with Murdoch on facebook...no more facebook for Riley! Murdoch has been impossible to find! Amazon.com here I come!)

Girls Day Out
Today was suppose to be Riley's third birthday party, but Mother Nature had other plans so we postponed it. So Brenna and I got up bright and early to take care of some things before the men of the house got up. Here's how our day went:
Stopped by Target to pick up some things and checked out the flower headbands they had in the dollar spot. Brenna didn't find it as amusing as I did. You can almost hear her thinking, "I am so getting you back for this when I'm a teenager."
Watched all the people at Discount Tire while waiting for our car to be fixed. She stayed in the carseat for quite a while, then needed to get out and entertain the crowd with her charming raspberry blowing act. She was a big hit.
Drove home in the near blizzard like conditions we had.

Came home to eat lunch. It was a good day!
(Turn your speakers on and check out the new song I've put on my blog - a Bob Marley song (Three Little Birds) re-done by children's singer Elizabeth Mitchell. Awesome! )

Monkey Boy
One of my favorite places to buy clothes for the kids is The Children's Place. They have great prices and really, really cute stuff. I got Riley this monkey hat for Christmas.Tuesday, February 17, 2009
The Perfect Cheer...
Who's that girl writing on her blog? It's Me! It's Me!I said, who's that girl finally writing her blog? It's Me! It's ME!Uh huh, uh huh. Uh huh uh huh uh huh.MIGHTY B!Show of hands of who did the cheer just like Ariana and Craig would have??Yeah, that's what I thought!Hello dear readers. It's nice to see you again. Things have been a little wacky in the hive - and to be honest - I have terrible time management skills. But I'm going to work on making the blog a priority again. Thank you for missing me. 8-)Some updates I'd like to make:
Weight loss Wednesday will be back! Some new things have been occuring 'round here and I have a new-found fever to lose my middle. I'd like to pick a day (or two) where I post a picture of my everyday things. I miss scrapbooking and want to remember these times...but don't have the time right now to sit and create a page. So hopefully, documenting them on the blog will do until I can get around to the actual creating process. This will mean that I have to find the cord to my camera, which brings me to my next update: I'd like to start focusing on 'issues' that we have as women, mothers, HUMANS and find 'solutions' for them. I love reading 'self-help-ish' type stuff and think this has the potential to be both entertaining and helpful. We'll see. :-) So here's a small taste of what's to come. I'm working on a new header, checking out The Cutest Blog on the Block for a new background (if you happen to use their backgrounds, I encourage you to donate on their website! They have such awesome, easy to use backgrounds...let's help keep them free!) Lots more news to share with ya'll, so visit again soon!
