Do You Elf?

I love finding new Christmas traditions for my family, but I'm a bit disturbed by one I've been seeing a lot of lately.
Hellllooooo

The Elf on the Shelf. I love the idea of it. The elf comes to your house to watch and make sure the kids are good, then reports back to Santa. Each morning, the kids can look for the elf in a different place. Some of the poses I've seen online are really pretty funny!

But I'm not to sure of his little smirk. Is he a scary elf that will come to life at night and kill me in my sleep? Or maybe a pervy elf who will hide and watch me undress? Will my kids like it? Or become paranoid that this thing is watching them?

I both love and hate the Elf on the Shelf. Do you have one?

  3. I just got one. I use to use "santa can see you through the TV's, so he's watching you" but I think this will be better. Just keep him out of your bedroom, you won't feel violated. LOl

  4. I've never Elfed before but I've thought about it. I am afraid it would be like those creepy stabbity dolls and his little Elf eyes would follow me everywhere. And then there's the risk the cat might EAT the Elf and we'd have a whole slew of problems on our hands...

  5. We don't elf. Santa only brings one present here, so that's not too much of a bribe. We try to keep Christmas about Jesus and not so much about the presents. They get 3 presents from Mom and Dad (just as Jesus did) and one from Santa. :) Besides, I am pretty sure my Riley will still get presents even if he is rotten...and he is guaranteed to be rotten! :) It is a cute idea though.
