This big girl is now five and a half. That means kindergarten.
I think it's fair to say for most parents, sending your youngest to school is a mixture of heartbreak and triumph. You're finally sending your last child to school! At the same time, you're sending your BABY to school.
Grace is no exception.
Right now we are trying hard to figure out what will be best for her. Should we send her to public school like our other two? Or should we home school her? Can a school meet her needs? Can I push her if she stays home? So many questions we are trying to answer. We don't have to know the answers until the day before school actually starts in August. But we're having a big meeting with the school on Friday to hammer out some of the details that will be in place if we do decide to send her.
I got a notice today that there will be 14 people at the meeting. FOURTEEN. Not counting my husband and I! If you have never gone to an IEP meeting before, it can be extremely intimidating. There are usually 5-6 people at an IEP meeting. So to have 14 people, sitting across from us, wanting to talk about a huge decision I don't feel prepared to make is overwhelming to say the least.
